Do I HAVE to get AirWrap Reducer?

Short answer no however a $22 item may make or break the project. Not just trying to upsell you on a reducer that you could already buy in the store either. This is a solvent blend that Raail has manufactured to work with AirWrap. When we are spraying any AirWrap project, we will definitely add this to our last 1-2 coats. Helps slow down the dry time for an even finish.

What does AirWrap Reducer do?

Adding some reducer to your AirWrap project will help the coating flow out a little more to your personal liking. Within the traditional auto paint world, they typically add reducer to their paint. Adding reducer is most important when it comes to your last few coats. This will allow the paint to dry a little slower so you can fully get around the car and not end up with any dry spots/sprays. Example: If you start on the drivers fender and go around clock wise when spraying, you'll end at the drivers door. By the time you reach your last panel, the starting point is already dry and you'll be left with some dry overspray. Slowing down the dry time will solve this.

When do I need to add AirWrap Reducer?

  • When your environment/booth is hot out.
  • When you are spraying pearls adding 15-20% to your hopper will help the pearls flow out even better. Fun fact: we are the only industry who sprays pearls directly over a base coat. Standard automotive paint manufactures typically mix pearls and a color together and then spray that vs pearls only. The easiest way to would be to purchase a gram scale. This part is gonna take some math. Take your empty paint hopper and tier it our to zero. Fill your paint hopper with Raail AirWrap and take note of the grams and add your % that way. Example. 500g of AirWrap + 15% = 575g total. You'll need to add 75g of reducer to your hopper. We will make a video of this and post it with the product page here shortly.
